Does anyone have a ball park figure for the cost?

One website has a quick quote function: $1450.
Seems kinda expensive. I'm wondering if I can just dop it off at a ferry...

Thanks!

The ferry would be more of a hassle. First, you have to take two ferries since the ferry going to Whittier doesn't go to Bellingham. Second, the Whittier leg is usually filled up so it may not be until September before there is an opening. Third, you have to get the car from Seattle to Bellingham and then from Whittier to Anchorage. Fourth, there's a chance they'll forget to load your car on the Whittier ferry or forget to remove it at the transfer point.

Try Alaska Marine Lines and Northland Services to see their rates.

Default Information Regarding Ferries to Ancorage from Seattle

I am looking to find out how much it would be and who to contact in order to ship my car and myself to Ancorage around the end of July the beginning of August 2009, If anyone knows where to begin this search I would greatly appreciate any information.

$1450 is cheap. It costs twice as much to ship from Tacoma to Anchorage as it does the other way around. I'm not sure why this is but that's what I was told at Wrightway. As far as the ferry system goes, you can ship an unattended vehicle, but there is an extra charge. And then, of course, you'll need to fly to Juneau and then board a ferry to Haines to pick up your car. By the time all is said and done, you could have paid for a 4-berth cabin with a view. If you take the ferry, you'll find it really is a beautiful trip.

I used a great company and shipped from Seattle to Anchorage and it took about 7 days. We have a Saturn Vue and it was shipped for $1,640. I know the cost for a small car was way less. If you want to know which company pm me and I can give you details. The place we used bet all the quotes we got by $200 or more. You could always do the Alaska Marine Highway if you want to be with the car.

I could drive from Seattle to Anchorage for less than $1600 and have plenty of money left over.
