I like to go out and socialize at various bars/restaurants. But the COVID-19 ended that.
Even if bars open they want you to do the social distancing crap which totally defeats the purpose of going there. I'm predicting bar businesses will suffer because I'd just rather have a group of about 30 people over to drink and socialize. It'll be the guy with the biggest party thing.
For what it's worth, my wife and I talked about this and we both think we're more likely to eat at home and then go out for a drink at a bar than do the whole restaurant thing.
Paying $100+ for a meal at a restaurant under the screwed down conditions feels like a waste compared to just canoodling in the corner with a couple $10 cocktails.
As a barfly, I wont mind the social distancing. I pretty much know everyone in the bar and I doubt any of them are going to stay away for very long. For most of us, THIS is our social time.
Thing is, most of the guys are in the over 60 category so I'm not sure they would want to come back. But I'll certainly be their when the bars open because its truly no fun to drink at home by myself.
I quit going to bars a long time ago- can't smoke anymore, outrageous prices, TV loaded with 'Buzzed' Driving We're Gonna Throw Your Ass In Jail advertisements.
It was much less expensive, much more convenient and much more comfortable to just take one room of my house and make a barroom out of it. It's got high and low tables (that I made myself), an antique (working) wood-burning stove, a chandelier that looks like a candelabra with dimmable retro-look LED bulbs, a rag rug, a marble-topped bar (used to be a sideboard and the marble is a salvaged fireplace mantel) with a rack (used to be a mirrored waterbed headboard, heavy, dark pine) of liquors that includes some of the finest aged single-barrel and small batch bourbons made. Oh, and a 10 foot window wall that looks out to a pleasant country scene of field and woods.
Screw going out. I can sit and relax with a drink and a smoke, and a roaring fire when it's cold and I don't have to worry about getting pinched by an over-zealous cop because I had a couple of drinks too close together.

That sounds like a great bar setting. I'd be comfortable washing back a few with you.
My girl friend and I went to a bar / restaurant on Tuesday of this week. We sat outside at a small table and had a nice time. A fair number of people were out and about, enjoying some nice weather.
I had a dry Martini and she had a Bloody Mary and we share two appetizers. We have dinner plans at one of our favorite restaurants for Thursday, for their "re-opening" night. It will be great.

Man, your home bar is awesome! I'd like to see a picture or two of what it looks like if you don't mind posting it. Thanks!
dh and I love to go to bars to just be around other people. We don't need to sit near anyone else, so it would be possible to distance and just people watch from afar. I would definitely do this if it wasn't too crowded.
Zymer, your set-up sounds great! We actually still have a mirrored waterbed headboard and we've been wanting a bar for the lower level, so maybe...

Post-COVID-19? Sure.
As soon as the bars re-open locally, many months before COVID-19 ceases to be a clear and present danger? Um... no.
Our restaurants opened last week along with the bars but only the ordering drinks are allowed if you are sitting at a table and food is being served. The bars only are not yet open, may not be for awhile. I of us got together for our weekly happy hour Thursday. It was great to see everyone again and enjoy catching up with what has been going on the past few months. The limit is 10 in any group so we kept it down to 8. We had our masks, but of course were not wearing them. As long as we wore them while walking through the bar area we were ok, and we sat out around the patio. We will do the same this coming Thursday only at a different restaurant. I am not convinced sitting outside, overlooking the water and having a couple of drinks is spreading COVID19 to anyone.
