(Actually though alcohol is a food because there is caloric value to it that can fuel your body)
In my experience, alcohol has done more to fuel absolute foolishness and inane activities than any other substance. One or two drinks is a way to relax, 8 or 10 is liquid stupidity.
Alcohol is NOT a food. Here is the truth. It is a drink just like soda therefore it SHOULD be able to be purchased with food stamps. Since it isn't, I think all sodas and other sugary drinks should also be banned from being bought with food stamps. Any diet soda with aspartame is much more dangerous than alcohol so this is not right.
I don't consider alcohol a food. I know you can buy soda with foodstamps and I don't consider that food either.
