AAA New Mexico keeps a list of shops they authorize/recommend. You might try their web site of drop by one of the offices in Albuq to obtain the list for your area.

We use Brooks Auto Repair , 2nd St NW at Vineyard.

Never had a problem and when I have needed replacement parts, the owner shops around for used ones at huge savings over new ( when he can )

He works on our 3 cars, my parents 2 cars, my husband's aunt and cousin's cars..none of us has ever had a problem.

There was a follow up to the TV report that you mentioned desert sun (KQRE?). They stated that they should have told us that the study was done by an on-line auto parts supplier that is in competition with local mechanics. To me, that clearly raises questions about the report.

We take our vehicles to Albuquerque Automotive on North 4th. Very honest. Very reliable. (They work on all makes/models, but have extensive experience with Lexus vehicles if that's important to you.) Have referred many others to them, all have been more than satisfied.

Chap

Mike's Auto Repair, 150 Virginia St NE in Albuquerque. Extremely reasonable pricing and does quality work. Quoted me $350 for something a dealership wanted $1,001 for.

I appreciate everyone's imput, I have to take it to the dealership to get it checked out tomorrow, if its something the powertrain warranty will cover then that is great.
