Sorry for posting such a question on here, but I'm looking for a place that will...
1. Test all speakers in my car (six of them)
2. Hopefully give me advice on replacing the busted ones, good selection
3. Install them for me, and do a good job of it
I have been warned against that place that's the "Home of the $1.00 install". I've heard that they have shoddy installation practices that have lead to electrical problems. Anyway, if these three services I'm looking for can't be found in one store, that's fine. I am willing to buy the speakers over the internet. I just need to get them tested, and I need to find out for sure what type of speakers will be compatible with my car. And no, I can't install them myself. I'd have to take apart the whole darn door panel and there is no way I'm going to do that.
Another place to find good information would be forums dedicated to your particular vehicle, there you will find reviews and advice about which brands & models work best, buy them online and have someone local install them.
Heh, I've tried forums dedicated to my car. They're filled with A-holes that are much too mechanically inclined to answer questions not related to hardcore mechanical modifications. Plus, those people don't live in my area.
I appreciate the suggestions. Forget the testing. I just need some feedback on a couple of places that will sell and install speakers for me. Thanks.
There is a place on Menaul and Dallas, that does great work with fair prices. Mesa Radio Custom

If the problem is a busted speaker it shouldn't be that hard to find and replace yourself. Play something and listen through a section of tubing at each speaker (keep the volune DOWN) to find the dead one. Then the replacment is just a few screws and a couple of wire clips.
Also, If all wiring is correct and all voltage test check out okay and the speaker still doesn't make noise, that means it's blow.
Remember: If it still makes a sound, it's NOT blow. A blown speaker is incapable of making sound cause the coil connection to the magnet is no longer there. Hard to send a signal to something if the wire isn't connected. (if it's not Wi-fi, that is lol)
