Any recommendations of safe suburbs with decent schools that are commutable to Albuquerque?

Rio Rancho?

What school grades?

I'm not sure about the school systems in Corrales and Placitas.

Corrales is part of APS, while Placitas is part of Bernalillo Public Schools.

Grades 1-6 in Placitas go to Placitas Elementary. It's part of the Bernalillo system but limited to Placitas residents. That school has been highly rated. Grades 7-12 go to school in Bernalillo. Those schools have not been highly rated.

Are you implying that you have to live in a suburb to be "safe" and have access to good schools? Not true.

Albuquerque doesn't exactly have all that many suburbs to begin with. Because of that there is probably only one answer to your question: Rio Rancho.

Albuquerque itself has plenty of good schools. There are good schools in far northwest Albuquerque (immediately adjacent to Rio Rancho) that are located in your typical middle class suburban-type areas yet are actually within the city limits of Albuquerque.

ABQ has some great schools.

And better access to everything (not on the westside) without having to commute across the river all the time.

Check out threads on the La Cueva school district (arguably the best school district in the metro area). It is in the NE side of Albuquerque, but has a suburban feel and the safe neighborhoods you are looking for.
