I am a student from a public university that belongs to the UT System here in Texas. I am planning in majoring in Accountancy and obtaining a Master degree in Accountancy aswell. Does Albuquerque have a financial sector? How are future employment opportunities in Albuquerque? Thank You.

While accountants do work in Albuquerque, and there are always presumably places for accountants, Albuquerque is unfortunately a financial backwater.

Work here because you love living here, not because you think it will be good for your career (at least as an accountant).

I think that accountancy isn't number crunching, allocating numbers, etc. If I understand correctly, it is taking the data that accounting produces and conveying that information to the people that need the information. If that is the case, I think that Fidelity may be the only place in Albuquerque that does that (if they even do that here).
