Well after much thought and action, I am officially moving out to Albuquerque in roughly 2 weeks. I am taking a risk, as I do not have a solid job offer as of yet, but am hopeful that I will have one soon! I was just wondering if anyone had any tips for a new resident in ABQ? Cheap but good places to shop/grocery/ect. and also good cheaper areas of town to rent? I have a place to stay with some friends when I get in, but not sur how long for.......Any info, tips or anything would be great!! Thanks!! And can't wait to see your city again!!

I found my first apartment through craigslist, and it was pretty nice. It was in the SW part of town and fairly cheap, on the bus line and I liked it. Some people don't like the SW part of town, but I had no problems there at all. It's hard to answer your questions without knowing what you like/don't like or what kind of neighborhood you're looking for. The four corners of town are way different from each other, so that's something to consider.

Yeah I've been looking on craigslist, seems like there are some good deals on there, I just don't know what part of town some are in and if its a good area lol. I'm not too particular on the kind of neighborhood I'm looking for, just somewhere where I can walk around and be safe doing so. Sorta been looking around Nob Hill but also don't know if I can spend as much as some of those are......hoping to stay around $500/month for rent but we'll see.

If you are looking to stay around $500 then Nob Hill/UNM area are your best options. The cost of living is pretty low so you shouldn't have to many issues.
