I should have added captions, some shots I'm still unsure of where I took them but I will add captions to the photos I know.

I've always assumed that it means I'm looking through azure-colored glasses.

I actually framed one of Jayely pics in a 24" x 36" poster print with a nice wooden frame. Try page #69 in the metro photo thread. Sorry I have problems with links.
The best part is now I get to view the Sandias everyday.

Yeah, that's the one I was talking about. How about PB178513_3, where can you get so close to the water?

Poncho will be able to answer that question best, I believe it's in Rivers Edge 2 or 3 in Rio Rancho, just behind all the houses, it's real easy to get too.

Speaking of Poncho; his view - from Rio Rancho and parts North has a different "feel" than the view from Albuquerque.

The North and South parts of the Sandias form a bit of a "V" and then to the North,
there is a ridge that extends out to the West ( Rincon Ridge ) and is about 8,000 ft high.
From Most of Albuquerque, this gives the impression that the Sandias envelop the city.
As N8! mentioned, the views from inside the "V" at Ellena Gallegos really show this "envelopment."

From Rio Rancho, the Sandias look much difference since you can see the del Agua
burn area and the Northern reaches of the Sandia that are invisible from the city.

Coming in from Jemez Springs, the view of the Sandias is piles of rocks with a spire shooting into the sky.

Looking at the Sandias from a plan landing at ABQ you see what looks like a wave cresting.

Of course, everyone knows that the back side of the Sandias ( and Manzanos )
look much "smoother" and less rugged than the front ( West ) side.

I like the view at the Pueblo between Tramway and the Bernalillo exit. I imagine the Placitas area may have good shots. I'm sure locals who have been here longer know better than I, but up around that area are the views that have impressed me the most.
