These are some of the photo's I recently found in some files. Some from family, some from Archives. They are photo's of Albuquerque from the late 19th early 20th century.

Most are from Downtown Albuquerque.

Please feel free to add some of your own photo's if you have any.

Oh, I KNOW! I'm like a kid in a candy store looking at all these photo's.
I love history.

When my great grandmother was alive, I remember all the times I would sit and talk about those days... very interesting times for Albuquerque.

I was looking at that aerial view photo of Albuquerque, and it seems the Rio Grande was wider and had much more water back in the way day. Wow..

Thanks for posting those.
I'm going to identify the ones that I think I can identify
and others can either add to it or correct me if I'm wrong:

This is downtown looking from the edge of the East Mesa around the current location of CNM.
The far ground of the photo has the volcanos in view. :

This is looking at the NE corner of 1st and Gold:
The building in front is gone, the one in back still exists on 1st and Central
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...C2010/Alb4.png

Albuquerque High on Central. Look for this building in the picture:

This looks to be taken from the Hospital building next to I-25.
It's looking W on Grand Avenue ( now MLK Blvd ) at downtown with the volcanos in view.
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...C2010/Alb7.png

Looking E on Central. You can pick out the Albuquerque High building
a few blocks from the location of the picture. This picture appears to
have been taken before the Railroad tracks were elevated since they
are only two blocks W of the Albuquerque High building.

There are some other shots of buildings on Central that I recognize,
but cannot specifically locate, so did not comment.

This is an absolute treasure trove of old Albuquerque photos that I stumbled upon while Googleing for some pictures of my favorite old buildings to share in this thread:

ABQ MUSEUM PHOTOARCHIVES' photosets on Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/abqmuseumphotoarchives/sets/ - broken link)

From that collection, a few of my favorite old Albuquerque buildings:

The Armijo House hotel

The Masonic Temple

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3217/...b7754ac7_b.jpg

The YMCA

And here's an aerial pic of the old Santa Fe Railroad Shops, including my neighborhood of Barelas at the top. I'm absolutely overjoyed in finding this particular pic!

Not from that collection, but here is a pic of the old Barelas Bridge over the Rio Grande that I wanted to share. In the Barelas Community Center today is a much better framed picture of the bridge that I desperately want a copy of for myself to frame and hang in my own home.

And finally, this is my favorite of Albuquerque's old hotels, The Franciscan, in color, a model, and black and white:

I will never understand why the Franciscan Hotel was torn down.

What a stupid mistake. And the Alvarado Hotel.... Albuquerque was not thinking then...
