My wife and I are moving to Alb. on sept. 1 we have some savings to live on for awhile ,my wife is disabled and has a small income, but I will need to start working soon after we arrive. So my question is, I install residential glass for a living. Does any one know of any glass shops hiring?? thanks for any info.

I moved with my fiance here about a month ago. We did the same thing by saving up money before we came here. I am also looking for a job... but I am looking for a job in the Albuquerque public school system. I am hoping to get hired as a substitute teacher or as an educational aide. My fiance is also disabled as well. You should try looking in the yellow pages here for glass installation shops. We love the city.... food is good.. lots of outdoor activities... and great weather. Good luck with your job search!

thanks, hope your job search pans out. I`ve contacted a few glass shops, but it`s a pain to do from WI. We can`t wait to get down there

You could try Glassrite and Renewal by Anderson, off the top of my head I think those two do their own installation.

You might try one of the local home improvement big box stores to see if they contract with someone to do this type of work and who that might be. Another option would be to set up your own mobile business doing it. Would be pretty cheap to advertise it now with Craigslist.

Do you have any commercial construction experience? It seems to be doing better than residential right now.
