I'm a big fan of the Alaska State Troopers show on Nat Geo. I know that some Alaskans on this board are less than enthused about the proliferation of "reality" shows set in Alaska. I was curious as to how many are out there now since I don't watch all that much TV. The ones I could think of are:

1) Alaska State Troopers
2) Deadliest Catch
3) Ice Road Truckers (which seems like one of the dumbest ones to me)
4) The gold panning one that takes place in Nome.

I was talking to someone who said they thought there was one that was like an Alaskan version of House Hunters too, but I personally have never seen or heard of that particular show.

Those are ones I can think of off the top of my head that you are missing...

I had no idea there have been so many Alaska shows recently. That's remarkable.

Buying Alaska is the "house hunters" version. Interesting to watch.

Flying wild Alaska ended last season. Sad I liked that show. Alaska State Troopers Is still a good show. I have had many people down here in NC ask if the law is really that nice up there. From what I delt with living up there I tell them yeah there a lot nicer in Alaska.

Not to mention that Alaska Airlines is getting a lot of extra flights (and returns) out to Dutch Harbor (Pennair) to have all those people going out there to make big bucks as crabbers!

Not to ignore all the new gold miners showing up as well!

I heard from some guys over at the Board of Trade Saloon in Nome that they were making bank this summer helping all the new miners drown their tears.
