When I first bought my D70 used from my brother, he included the lens. I'd since upgraded a few times, but kept the lens, and most recently gave it along with the D70 to my Mother Inlaw. So I needed another.
Redoubt is kicking out a nice steam cloud this morning. I'm tempted to take the drive to the beach. Also...the aurora level is at 3/moderate. Might be worth making a drive out to the lake about midnight tonight, and watching the skies until 3 or 4 AM.

D70 is the everyday I use. It is a simply great machine and I am partial to Nikon Lens esp the 55-200 lens helps get the sense of space and time. It is pretty lightweight and works fast in a number of conditions. Here is one such shot from last year's trials.

Great bridge perspective Warpman. I love how the bridge leads you eye right into the center of the picture. I have added it and others to my screen saver picture show. There are so many good ones on the forum, I rarely see the same one, but do spend a lot of time just staring at the slide show of Alaska, and wind up getting very little down.

Default Cross Country Skiing Today

I hit the lake a runnin

With some brandy stops at the falls

And these cool iceicles

My target being the top of this knob

Yes...this one

Suddenly...I'm there

And the view? Awesome as usual...yeah...it was great

I mean, just look at Redoubt, and the islands where my cabin lays in wait

Redoubt was rolling the steam since early this morning

So I took the time to enjoy the show, no danger no warning

Looked back from whenced I came

Just wishing I could get to that point of land on the left...but happy just the same

But man, that volcano...

So I climbed back down, found a sunny nook to build a fire...using some cedar shavings and my lunch box

Survivor man...eat your heart out, cause dude...this place rocks!

I got it goin on!

Food and fresh water

A hint of the glow

And back on the trail whilst the sun ceases to show. Hey wait a minute...what's up with the volcano? Guess like me...Redoubt was about out of steam!

So skiing along about 4:30 PM...I had to stop in mid stride and answer the phone. But thats fine by me...a great end to the day...I'm on the phone...it's Karla with a K!
