I may end up in Anchorage next week (if I manage to catch a space A flight out there) but I'm trying to get to Fairbanks for a visit to UAF, because I'm moving up there in December.
Do any of you know what the best (and by that I mean fastest of the cheapest options) way to get up there?
We've checked things like busses and the train, but they were all very expensive and mostly seemed to be intended to be a touring system less than just a transportation system - as much as I would love to see every bit of Alaska, I really just need to get from A to B here and not pay for scenic day-trip stops.
Any help is appreciated!

Thanks! I don't know if my mom already looked into those or not, but I'll certainly check them!

Fly or Drive. Those are your options. but by the time you rent a car, flying is probably cheaper.

If you don't mind trusting the shady characters around here (...), you might set some dates and see if any of us are heading between the cities. My schedule's pretty open the next couple weeks and I wouldn't mind a paid-for trip to Anchorage ($50 gas money). So let me know if you get to Fairbanks and need a ride back.

I'm guessing my Mom'd be pretty hesitant about that, but I'll run it by her. xD
Though we are bringing a big hairy service dog, so I don't know if you'd really want that, anyway. x3
Thank you for the offer though, definitely.
