So, my husband and I would like to visit Alaska. We are in our mid 20's and have not a clue of what city/town/villiage to visit or what to expect. I'm doing internet research and I'm seeing a lot of towns with only 200-400 people. We want to go to a smaller town, but one that is fun too. Of course, I want to go someplace with good shopping, as my husband is more about going someplace where you walk out and you see a moose or bear, we both agree we want a place with mountains, snow, or maybe a waterfall... A big worry I have is getting bored. I heard Alcohol is hard to find and some places down even allow it, and I almost fainted, lol... Where is a good place for a younger couple to go to thats secluded yet entertaining?

Though I'm sure there is a night life somewhere in Alaska, time in that state is best spent outside imo. You guys might have the most fun if you found a cruise ship with a younger crowd...which could be tough.

I've got plenty of screwdrivers if you'd like to borrow one or two when you come up. Also have hammers, saws, and all kinds of wrenches.

Thanks, Stiffnecked, lol, I'll be sure to pass all that stuff to my husband, he'll know how to use 'em cause I sure don't! I want the kind of screwdriver with my good birdie friend, Mr. Grey Goose... lol, Is it true about alcohol though? That it's hard to come by in smaller towns?

Yes some villages are dry. But you probably don't want to move to a village first thing here. Try Anchorage or one of the outlying areas.
