Hi

I searched and found a forum posting re: how to post a link. Within that forum post I can successfully post a link. But when I try on any other forum post here the link is dead....

It looks like this for example Turntable - invite only beta

Any idea why this is happenning?

thanks

Links are not enabled for new members. You have to be a member for at least a few days and have a few posts under your belt before the link code will work for you.

In addition to not being able to post links, you're not allowed to recommend anything (like brands of peanut butter, laundry detergent or recording artists) until you get to 10 posts.

Use those first few posts to express your opinion on other things and give members here an idea of whether they should trust your recommendations before you start recommending.

Default Question about what is considered advertising

I previewed a post that included the link I need so that others can access case documents and legal filings.

When the link previewed it gave the bold name of a law firm + pdf #
example: Lawyers, Lawyers, and Attorneys at Law [456] pdf

is this acceptable?

This is a bit off topic from the opening post to this thread but may be a good time for a reminder about posting links.

In my opinion, yes, I think the title to that link should be more descriptive instead of the embedded title of the law firm and should have been changed once it was posted (remember, one has the ability to edit their post within the 90-minute window ...if after 90-minutes, contact a moderator to edit the link).

One can title a link in any manner they'd like. For example, let's take the last link you've posted and title it differently:

last link that leanansidhex posted

To do this, 1) simply type the text you'd like to have displayed by the link, 2) highlight what you've typed, 3) copy the URL from the page you are linking, 4) click on the "Insert Link" icon and paste the URL into the box, 5) click the "OK" button
