Althought the Seafare is closing tomorrow, May 31, 2014, it was the finest seafood place, everything fresh, clean, done right, and would have to say, better than most seafood restaurant right on the beach! Besides the great fresh seafood and fish the Farmer Brothers Coffee is wonderful, the desserts are excellent, excellent, (blueberry cheesecake, chock. cream pie, etc.) are beyond wonderful! There isn't a fresh fish or seafood restaurant within 100 miles, and maybe beyond that can make fried shrimp like The Seafare Inn. It is literally THE BEST...... no thick batter, just butterflied, large crisp, hot, and memorable!!!! Gary and Scott are wonderful hosts and can cook better than most chefs! Our family and friends regret that this icon and landmark in Whittier will be closing. There's no other reason for us to travel 40 miles to Whittier again. Good bye and thank you for serving us since 1962. WE ARE BUMMED!!!! :((
