A lovely old house turned into a lovely restaurant, East Side Cafe was a favorite "date night" restaurant when I lived in that area. The menu is upscale - Baked Brie with Apple Chutney, Panko And Pecan Encrusted Chicken Breast, Smoked Salmon Ravioli, Rosemary-skewered Pork Tenderloin - without being much more expensive than a typical chain restaurant. Service is excellent, and the ambiance is very conducive to a relaxed, intimate meal. An unusual feature is the large garden in back where they grow vegetables and herbs that are used in the dishes they serve. I liked to grab a glass of wine and then stroll through the garden while I was waiting for my table. I found it really enhanced my appreciation for the food, knowing how incredibly fresh some of the ingredients are.
