Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Spa, CA

Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Spa is one of the newer locals for vacationers to find accommodations. The hotel was opened in 2004 just outside of San Diego in La Jolla, California. Estancia is a development of the Lowe Corporation, and sits adjacent to the University of California San Diego. The 210 room hotel provides easy access to San Diego's Golden Triangle, beaches, shopping, and the village of La Jolla.

The entire hotel is 26,000 square feet with state of the art conference facilities, spa, and restaurants. Even though it is a Lowe development Destination Hotels and Resorts manages the property. Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Spa sits in one of the more historic areas of California. In the 1940's an affluent family called Black purchased ten acres of land for an equestrian estate and training grounds. It is these grounds that have been turned into the hotel.

The decor of Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Spa is typical of the southern California model. It offers a rustic luxury appearance on the exterior with rock walls and wood eaves. The interior of the hotel is even more luxurious with soft neutral colors mixed with some Spanish influence.

Each hotel room offers top amenities to make a person's stay very comfortable. Depending on the size of the room reserved one could find a balcony along with additional amenities. Guest room offerings include TV with video games, pay movies, and cable. Phone, wireless internet, video messaging, newspaper, toiletries, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, and coffee maker are in all rooms. Guest services include valet parking at $25, 24 hour room service, administrative support, business necessities, meeting rooms, baby sitting services, laundry and dry cleaning, in room safes, a gift shop, and Cabana rental at the pool.

The Spa and Wellness section of the hotel is situated in the Torrey Pines of La Jolla. It offers complete rejuvenation of the body with a number of herbal remedies, and botanicals. Guests can unwind in the indoor spa or sit out in the garden rooms for total relaxation during the spa treatments. While the hotel does not have a golf course on the premises they do offer golfing at Torrey Pines Golf Course. This course is a championship set up with views of the Pacific Ocean. Nearby the hotel also includes Sea World, Beaches, and the San Diego Zoo.

Estancia offers a few different places to dine. Adobe El Restaurante is a sophisticated setting with plenty of Southern California dishes including fresh sea food, fresh produce, and mesquite grilled cuisine. Mustangs and Burros is a ranch style bar for relaxing in a Spanish atmosphere. The bar is open from 12pm to 11pm most days. They do serve appetizers to keep visitors happy before the dinner hour. The last place to find some cuisine is Bodega Wine Bar which offers a number of wines with appetizers to match. The bar is open Friday and Saturday only from 5pm to 10pm. Private dining can also be arranged if necessary.
