leave the country in general and move to a new country permanently? If so, where would you go?

Let me start it off. I'd move away if things got really bad here and there was no escape. By bad I mean sharp divides between the rich and the poor (comparable to third-world countries), extreme crime, etc. I would emigrate to Australia.

But I don't really see that happening, so I guess I wouldn't do it, LOL.

Ive contemplated this over the years as I have many clients overseas (UK, Ireland, Bahamas, UAE, South Africa, Cayman) and have had offers to come work for them for what seems like a VERY nice living in that country. Each time I just never had the right feeling after visiting. Then, several months later I learn something about the place/city/country and it confirms my suspicion and i know I made the right choice not to leave. The grass isnt always greener.

O...before I clicked this thread, I thought the question was "would you ever...move into somewhere like Newark, instead of leaving".

Yes I did a 1 month tour, Riyad(Saudi), Qatar, and Dubai. I was working, not on vacation, but it was still an awesome trip. Dubai is def the place to be in that area.

It's only one of my dream vacations (out of MANY, LOL). I am a HUGE fan of architecture and that's one reason why I want to go to Dubai. They have a lot of skyscrapers, including the world's largest, and I want to see them. I want to see the land-made islands shaped like the world and a palm tree. I want to explore the sand dunes in a SUV outside the city limits.
