Fresno's unfavourable reputation is due to a number of factors. The high rate of crime, the prevalence of drugs and ease with which customers can access them, and the low unemployment rate in Fresno City are all contributing factors to its poor reputation.

I'm guessing this must be Fresno's "central park" or the main park of the city.

We also stopped by River Park Shopping Center which seemed to be the city's higher end shopping mall. It was nice but way too crowded this Memorial Day weekend so we didn't stay long.
They're building a 700 sq acre park right next to Woodward park. If they combine it with woodward it could end up being bigger than central park and even golden gate park.

Think you meant high unemployment rate. It hasn't been high in years.
Lots of old info getting posted here by new users. Take stuff posted here with a grain of salt.
Your best bet is to visit any city you're thinking of moving to. Goes for Fresno or any other city. Don't rely on dying city data, go visit.

We stayed this past weekend at a small ranch house off of East Belmont Avenue/HWY 180 just East of town. Such a pleasant stay out in the country but just 10 minutes from the airport.
Fresno country side and foot hills are so pleasant to me.

Fresno along with many other Central Valley cities get a bad rep simply because it's in The Central Valley and not along The Coast, but if you were to pick up Fresno,Bakersfield,Etc and place them inside Texas or Florida, you'll get lots of hands clapping for these cities.

Yeah there's crime, but so does every other city in this Country, and just like every other city you got your good/bad areas...Crime Rates for Cities tends to give the good areas a bad image unfortunately.

There are plenty of cities that aren't along the coast that don't have a bad reputation.

Uhm, pretty sure he meant places that are legit cities and are not burbs or towns(folsom, Davis, Ojai, etc). He's likely right. I can't think of places far inland that are 350k in population and have stellar reputations. Even Sacramento has its haters.

Just letting y'all know this is a troll thread. There is no whiney step niece(lol). it's a bs story. I know cause The thread starter made it right after he got in a row with me.
But y'all enjoy posting here. I'm done checking and posting here.

Is there any possibility that Fresno can become one of the success stories of CA?
