Jessie's Grove Winery

Inhabiting an area of Northern California's wine country between the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas and the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, Jessie's Grove Winery exudes a rustic and historic atmosphere amongst the groves of oak trees and its vineyards.

Jessie's father, Joseph Spenker, established the farm in 1868 growing wheat and was counted among the farms contributing to the largest wheat-producing area in the world (Lodi and Stockton). In 1888 Spenker planted his first vineyard, adding more acres of vines later on. Some of these wines are still produced today and continue to garner the accolades of critics. All of the buildings at the winery were constructed between 1870 and 1917.

The winery produces 10 different wines and has a 32-acre oak tree grove to allow visitors a look at who the landscape would have appeared before farmers arrived. Jessie's Grove Winery also includes a museum with historic artifacts as well as indoor and outdoor event space available for rental. Operating hours for Jessie's Grove Winery are from noon to 5:00 p.m. seven days a week.

Jessie's Grove Winery is located 30 minutes south of Sacramento and 90 minutes east of San Francisco. Other nearby attractions include Lodi Lake, Thomas A. Peterson Park, Woodbridge Regional Park, Lodi BMX Jumps, and World of Wonders Science Museum.
