I ran into this place on my way to introducing myself to the dry cleaner and familiarizing myself with the neighborhood. I had just moved in April 2014.
There were long lines out the door and a smell of chitterlings coming out the front door. I peeked inside and tried to prairie dog my head over the crowd of people, but to no avail. By the time I reached the front I was overwhelmed! Turkey wings, meatloaf, pig feet, collard greens, cabbage, smothered pork chips, fried chicken, bbq chicken, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, and gravy. I am only touching the iceberg!
People were getting restless behind me so I had to make a quick decision. I chose turkey wings, mashed potatoes and collard greens. A special request for gravy from the meatlof on my turkey wings. They complied. I sat down at the very limited seating. There are two mini bar stools and a long but short counter where people usually wait for their food. I pulled out one wing and doused it in hot sauce.
I have been back there several times and have bought friends! Yup, breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have gotten there 15 minutes before close and it the food isn't sitting out front, they go to the back and tell you what is left and you can pick.
Mmmmmmmm! All in all, when you don't feel like cooking you can come here to take home.
