**Currently, employees working at facility do not possess a Certified Food Mangers card or has gone through Serve Safe Training. It is strongly advised that Starbucks food employees attain a Certified Food Managers card in addition to Safeway General Manager to ensure proper Food Safety Practices are met by food handling employees.**
Please remember to completely submerge Wet Cloth in sanitizer solution to prevent bacteria growth in cloth.
NOTE: Observed front filter cover to Ice Machine removed. Per Discussion with CFM, new ice machine is to be provided within next several days.
  • Critical: Quaternary Ammonium Compound Sanitizer Solution Concentration per Use Directions (corrected on site)
    Observation: When tested, the quaternary ammonium compound-based sanitizing solution was observed to be at a concentration less than what is required for effective sanitization of food-contact surfaces of equipment and utensils. Observed the sanitizing solution in the SANITIZING BUCKET WITH WET CLOTH FOR CLEANING OF MILK FROTHER with a concentration of <100 ppm total quaternary ammonium compound.
    Correction: The quaternary ammonium sanitizer used in this facility shall have a minimum concentration of at least 200 ppm OR a concentration between 150-400ppm based on the manufacturer's use directions and using the appropriate test kit. SANITIZER DISCARDED AND NEW SOLUTION CREATED.
  • Critical: Sanitize/Chemical/Manual & Mechanical/Concentration & Exposure Time (corrected on site)
    Observation: Chemical sanitizer immersion time was not adequate for QUAT sanitizing solution. OBSERVED FOOD EMPLOYEE DIP WASHED SPOON IN SANITIZER SOLUTION FOR LESS THAN 5 SECONDS.
    Correction: Chemical sanitization (manual or mechanical operations) including the application of sanitizing chemicals by immersion, manual swabbing, brushing, or pressure spraying methods using a solution by providing: 1) an exposure time of at least 10 seconds for a chlorine solution, 2) an exposure time of at least 7 seconds for a chlorine solution of 50mg/L that has a pH of 10 or less and a water temperature of 100°F or a pH of 8 or less and a water temperature of 75°F, 3) an exposure time of at least 30 seconds for other chemical sanitizing solutions, or 4) an exposure time used in relationship with a combination of temperature, concentration, and pH that when evaluated for efficacy yields sanitization. EHS EXPLAINED PROPER SANITIZING PROCEDURES.

**Approval is hereby granted for the issuance of a Health Department Permit. This inspection report shall serve as your permit until the official permit is received. All outstanding violations are to be corrected within ten (10) days but no later than the time of your first routine inspection (approximately 30 days). Equipment additions/replacement/changes are not allowed without Health Department approval.**
Note the following recommendations:
It is recommended that more than one person on staff be a Certified Food Manager. A Certified Food Manager must be on the premises during ALL food preparation and service.
It is recommended that a monthly pest control program be implemented. Maintain records of pest control treatments for Health Department review.
