Facility is a little cluttered due to space. Complete food handler cards as required by city ordinance and keep wiping bucket store where it will not contaminate other items. Otherwise no discrepancies noted.
  • Person in Charge
    Observation: Employees are not properly trained in food safety as it relates to their assigned duties. Some employees do not have current food handler cards as required by city ordinance.
    Correction: Train all employees in food safety as it relates to their assigned duties. PIC discussed requirement and PIC contacted employees to complete training during inspection.
  • Cloths - Wiping Cloths - Use Limitation (corrected on site)
    Observation: Wiping cloths buckets observed stored on shelf of 3 compartment sink where is can spill on clean equipment and into the wash sink combining with detergent making an unknown product. PIC corrected issue by placing bucket on a stool.
    Correction: 570(E). Containers of chemical sanitizing solutions specified in subdivision B 1 of this section in which wet wiping cloths are held between uses shall be stored off the floor and used in a manner that prevents contamination of food, equipment, utensils, linens, single-service, or single-use articles.

- Clean ice machine, around air gap of indirect plumbing, floors, shelving, etc.
- Remove tape from cup dispenser.
- **Re-plumb indirect plumbing from ice machine to sewer line to prevent potential contamination from sewer line.
("12 VAC 5-421-2200. Backflow prevention, air gap. An air gap between the water supply inlet and the flood level rim of the plumbing fixture, equipment, or nonfood equipment shall be at least twice the diameter of the water supply inlet and shall not be less than 1 inch (25 mm)."
