Keep an eye on the make table. Food in the cooler was slightly elevated. Check food temperatures around 2:00 pm and if foood is elevated, call technician to service cooler.

  • Critical: Food - Potentially Hazardous Food - Cold Holding* (corrected on site)
    Observation: Cheese sauce (for the new pretzel dog) cold holding at improper temperatures. Bag of cheese sauce being stored under heat lamp, at the dump station. According to standard operating procedures, product should be kept in the refrigerator. Cheese sauce was voluntarily discarded.
    Correction: Cold hold potentially hazardous food at 41°F or below to inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria.
  • Critical: Time as a Public Health Control* (corrected on site)
    Observation: Popcorn chicken, (in the dump station), for which time rather than temperature is being used as a control was not labeled or otherwise marked with a 4 hour cook, serve or discard by time.
    Correction: Discard food that is not cooked and served or served if ready-to-eat within 4 hours from the point in time when the food is removed from temperature control. Clearly label or otherwise mark the food with a 4-hour cook-serve or serve by time.
  • Plumbing System Maintained in Good Repair (repeated violation)
    Observation: Leak noted at the plumbing connections, under the hand sink, by the desk.
    Correction: Repair and maintain all plumbing components and fixtures.

    Observation: Plumbing connections under the hand sink, by the desk, are leaking.
    Correction: Plumbing systems and components shall be maintained in good repair.

My fiance got Salmonella poisoning from this Sonic in Chester, VA, on Bermuda Road. He and I ordered the #2 and #3. My burger tasted funny and so I tossed it. He ate all of his. Around 2am, he woke me up and said, “I feel awful.” He got up and started vomiting and having horrific diarrhea. It seemed like every 45 minutes this occurred? At first I thought he may have the flu, but when he told me he has blood in his stool....that was the tell-tale sign it was some sort of food poisoning? Im okay because I didn’t eat my burger because of how, “weird” it tasted? Sonic was the only thing we had to eat, so I know he got sick from this restaurant.
He will be giving samples to the VA health department.
