FDA 1B form provided for future use. Ensure proper hair restraints are used and food handler cards are obtained as required. Prepackaged foods are served and hot dogs. Ensure you watch the manufactures expiration dates on products as packaged hamburgers.
  • Person in Charge
    Observation: Employees are not properly trained in food safety as it relates to their assigned duties. Several food handler cards have not been obtained. Ensure cards are obtained in 30 days of this inspection date. Food handler cards are required by City of Suffolk ordinance and is a class 1 misdemeanor.
    Correction: Train all employees in food safety as it relates to their assigned duties.
  • Hair Restraints - Effectiveness
    Observation: Employees observed working in the food service area without proper hair restraints. Per PIC (person in charge) hair restraints not used.
    Correction: Ensure all employees wear hair restraints such as hats, hair coverings or nets, beard restraints, and clothing that covers body hair, that are designed and worn to effectively keep their hair from contacting exposed food, clean equipment, utensils and linens, and unwrapped single-service and single-use articles. This section does not apply to food employees such as counter staff who only serve beverages and wrapped or packaged foods, hostesses, and wait staff if they present a minimal risk of contaminating exposed food
  • Handwashing Cleanser - Availability (corrected on site)
    Observation: Soap was not provided at the hand washing lavatory in the kitchen. PIC corrected right away.
    Correction: Hand soap must be provided at all hand washing lavatories to encourage proper hand washing. Hand cleanser must always be present to aid in reducing microorganisms and particulate matter found on hands.
