Temperatures are running high on foods in refrigerators. Operator said that refrigerators were both at 41 degrees this morning. After that, groceries were purchased and put in them and also some foods are cooling in them. Advised operator to monitor unit and food temperatures and adjust thermostats accordingly so that safe temperatures can be maintained in refrigerators at all times.

    Observation: Some foods in refrigerator are cold holding at improper temperatures.
    Correction: Cold hold potentially hazardous food at 41°F or below to inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria.

    Observation: The handwashing facility located in the kitchen is blocked, preventing access by employees for easy handwashing.
    Correction: Access to the handwashing facility identified above is to be available during all hours of operation. Remove the items in it preventing its use.

Some harmful bacteria continue to grow even at refrigeration temperatures so limiting the amount of time in storage limits the amount of growth allowed for these bacteria.

This is opening inspection. Following items need to be corrected: need "no smoking" sign, handwash signs, drain plugs for 3 compartment sink, gaps at floor/wall junctures need to be sealed, sinks must be sealed to wall, toilet room door must be self-closing. Advised follow-up to be made and these items must be corrected as soon as possible. Must obtain drain plugs for sink prior to opening. This serves as health department permit to operate provided all other required inspections and permits have been obtained.
