The purpose of this visit was to conduct a risk-factor assessment. There was no food activity at the time of the inspection. The person-in-charge was available to answer the questions about the menus, food catering, and employee health. The Early Steps Bilingual Pre School at Arlington caters the food for this establishment.
NOTE:
- ORS interactive information was provided.
- Advised the facility to have more employee with CFM card.
- Provided an Employee Illness Decision Guide to the PIC.
  • Critical: Certified Food Manager/Presence Required
    Observation: There is no Certified Food Manager present in the establishment.
    Correction: It shall be unlawful to operate a food establishment unless it is under the immediate control of a certified food manager. It is highly suggested that you have more than one employee with the food manager's license. ORS Interactive, Inc. (see handout provided) issues the required photo identification card with proof of successful completion of a certified food manager's exam. Failure to have a certified food manager on site during ALL hours of operation including food preparation, food service, and cleaning/sanitizing of equipment/utensils will result in closure of the establishment. The CFM provided the ID at the end of the inspection.Provided the ORS Interactive information handout to have more employee to take the exam and get the CFM ID. Discussed with the person-in-charge over the phone.

    Observation: The PIC had no documentation verfying that the facility supplying the catered food is obtained is an approved food preparation/processing facility:
    Correction: Food shall be obtained from sources that comply with the Law. NOTE: Provide documentation to the Health Department within 10 days verifying the the food supplier is an approved food preparation facility.

This is a catering in food service in an existing church building. Food will be prepared elsewhere in another child food care kitchen located in Arlington County, and owned by the same operator. Food will be transported ready-to serve (hot or cold) in bulk containers to the school.
*Approval for a Health Department Permit is hereby granted. This inspection report shall serve as your permit until official permit is delivered to you. No equipment changes/replacements/additions are allowed without approval by Health Department.
