Description: Tysons Corner is one of the shining jewels in Fairfax County’s economic crown. Shoppers from throughout the region flock to Tysons Corner Center and its more than 290 stores, including Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor, and L.L. Bean, the Maine-based catalog company.Recent additions include Mexx, West Elm, Barnes & Noble, Esprit, and Urban Outfitters. Tysons is one of the area’s oldest shopping malls (dating to 1968), but you wouldn’t know it. Like so many of its peers, Tysons experienced a rebirth during the mid-1980s and a subsequent major addition in 2005. Among the most welcome changes were the addition of parking decks and the conversion of underground truck tunnels into rows of specialty shops.
