City: Norwalk, CT
Category: Accommodations
Telephone: (203) 847-4558
Address: 194 Perry Ave.

Description: In the heart of an adorable historic district along the banks of the Silvermine River, this tavern is really an old-fashioned coaching inn, a rambling structure complete with gatehouse. This area was the home of sculptor Solon Borglum, the brother of the man who carved Mount Rushmore, and today is full of sleepy, narrow streets and shady trees. Now primarily a bed-and-breakfast with 10 rooms, the Tavern is simply full of wonderful antiques and old-fashioned fixtures and amenities, yet they have Wi-Fi access in the parlors. Across the street is a country store and antiques shop worth visiting. Parking is across from the dining room by a very old carriage barn. Their signature honey buns are the can’t-miss dish at breakfast.
