1 - how many months is it 'deadly sun and humidity'? is it just July/Aug with an uncomfortable june/sept? or is it deadly from June - Sep? Up here in north, it is freezing cold from mid Nov to mid April. Thats a LOT of time i cant be outdoors, not even for 30 minutes.

2- assuming its just as hot for same time in FL as it is freezing for same time in North, which would you rather live in?
It's 11/27 and the heat index is 95 degrees and the rest of the week will be the same. It is hot from the end of May until November, but from June to October it's brutal.

I recently moved back from 6 years in Boca. To me it started getting hot in April and stated that way through October. So I count 7 months of bad weather. But the two summers I’ve been up here in CT have been awfully hot and humid. But it’s a shorter period.

I found the "tell us you're not from FL without telling us you're not from FL" thread.

Good Lord people. If you can't handle it here, just go? Or decide which is more desirable, act on that choice and accept it?

And you wonder why the natives can't stand the northern hoards.....

Humid summer—provided I live by the water, which I do now.

4 years of winter in Ithaca (upstate NY) was a lifetime of cold for me.

I have lived in the northeast, the southwestern deserts, and southern Florida.

I prefer the long humid summers of southern Florida.

You can stay outside for hours in the winter if you bundle up, have warm clothes and layer properly. But there's nothing you can do to make staying outside in a hot summer tolerable.

Florida is crazy hot/humid from May 1st to October 31st now. It was different 40 years ago, October & May used to be moderate, but the past 5 yrs its changed...especially October.

SE Florida East of I-95 gets the cool ocean breezes which help a lot. Its noticeable when you are East of U.S. 1. The Gulfstream is a flow of cool water flowing down from up North, & it runs close to shore in South FLA, colling things off when there's a breeze.

SW Florida isn't as lucky. The Summer weather in SW Florida is hotter and more humid than SE Florida.

Weather aside, the NY winters (of old anyway) due so much damage to one's car it's ridiculous. The potholes, the constant salt from the trucks that eats away at your car's undercarriage...did I say the potholes?

Just spent 3 days driving around South Florida. What a pleasure your roads are compared to the NY area. Especially the crappy boroughs.
