Hi all:

I am looking for a new tv or monitor for my Nintendo video games. I do not want something big, only 32" or smaller. Fast refresh rate, AND, headphone jack. Perhaps I need a gaming monitor? Will that work? Headphone jack is a must.

Thank you.

Why?

Refresh rate for consoles is meaningless. They're locked at 30/60 FPS, generally 30 for a weaker console like a Nintendo. Waste of money.

Headphone jack... never seen a TV with one. Nobody wants them. You can find them on a few monitors but it's not exactly a common feature there either.

Headphone jack? Good luck. Just get a standard sound system. Lots of them either come with bluetooth and/or headphone jacks.

Or an RCA to 3.5mm adapter for $5 or so.

You really can't do much better than this:

TCL 32S305 32-Inch 720p Roku Smart LED TV (2017 Model)

It's $169.99, 720p (which is perfect for a Nintendo console), you get the Roku software built in, and it is highly rated.

And yes, it has a headphone jack.

Perhaps he means input lag, which is relevant for some FPS games. We are talking fractions of a second but for some it seems to make a difference.
OP try to get a TV with a "gaming" mode that turns of some of the unnecessary processing of the signal before it converts it to the picture, I think also some review sites actually measure this log.

Headphone jack? Audio out jacks are pretty much standard that you can send to an amplified source. I have mine to a home theater type audit receiver and can plug headphone jacks into that.

Default 1080p

I assumed, were I to get a tv, I would need 1080p for video game console, right?

Nope.

720p is plenty sufficient at your price point and need.
