I've had solar panels on my roof since 2018. SDGE bills me annually. My annual electric bill is usually pretty close to zero.

My unit is 5.7Kw. I'm on the coast so it's cloudy some of the day. My average electric production is about 30Kw a day. In August, my system produced 896Kw.

In your Federal tax credit, you can deduct the cost of preparing your roof for the solar panel array. 30% is the new tax credit. It's a good deal. RL Roofing beefed up my roof and installed my solar system: https://rlroofing.com/
