I have a 1br apartment, and pay $1,200 for it, and the two bedrooms don't rent for $2,500, so I don't know who's paying $2,500, unless it's in La Jolla, etc.

I wouldn't even pay $1,200. I have a whole house for less than that with a front and back yard with green grass. No drought and plenty of water. Who knows if California gets their act together I might move back. The way things are going thats not going to happen anytime soon

I'm sure you do, but it's not in San Diego. I have a friend that moved to Provo two years ago, and has all that for less than $1,200. So, since you've now moved out of San Diego, why aren't you posting in your new city's section? Or maybe you're lying, and didn't move after all..........

Expensive areas are expensive for a reason. Just as cheap areas are cheap for a reason.

This is true. Each area has advantages and disadvantages.
