We are moving from Seattle to San Diego and have a son to be in 4th grade next year. He was in a program similar to seminar program here and his test scores makes his eligible for seminar programs at SDUSD. I could not find much info on the seminar program curriculum. How are they- mostly project based learning? Which seminar programs are good, especially which schools have low student:teacher ratio? Also would like recommendations on housing areas near these schools., eg: LaJolla elementary has one, and what are some family friendly areas near the school- especially if also interested in having some Asian neighbors? Does carmell valley schools have a GATE program?. I hear that it is a great school district as well. Thank you!

It's been many years since my daughter was in the seminar program at Muirlands Middle and La Jolla High School. She did not leave Torrey Pines Elementary when she tested into seminar to go to La Jolla Elementary. I suggest contacting the schools directly that you are interested in and ask about how they teach in their seminar program.

Thank you!, we are now settled for Hawthorne elementary for the seminar program, but might need to move for middle school. How was the Muirlands middle school seminar program for your kid?

My daughter had a very good experience in the Muirlands seminar program. They did English and Social Studies.
