I guess it's a sign of spring getting all the mail about wanting to buy my house. But so many more this year than before. Guess it is worthwhile to the companies for all these mailings but wish I could opt out.
Just curious has anyone ever sold a house to one of these groups? Not talking about a postcard from a Realtor advertising for business, but anonymous corporate mailings.
Many of the new agents do send out postcards/mailings to get listings. Especially in this market where homes priced under $200,000 are selling in a day!
Some of the townhome communities in North Raleigh are selling in a day with multiple offers so the new agents target them, hoping to get listings. Maybe they send out 100 and get one listing but not a bad idea in this market!
I can't talk about some of the companies that have entered our market but suffice to say that a couple of my sellers did contact them to discuss selling but did not use them. As a Realtor, I'm not allowed to discuss other companies business plan/commission/fees, etc.
We get them all the time too. What cracked me up was getting one the week after we closed on this house. I guess they must not cross reference that information and just cold-send.
They generally are targeting the quick sale/no hassle close. Folks going through divorce etc. Figure on 70% market value but that might have changed in recent years.
I understand the ones from Realtors trying to build up business. Have to do a lot a first to get going.
It's just so many of the we want to buy your house and no info about who/where you are I'm getting now. Though I do live in an affordable neighborhood. Just toss these letters into the shredder.
The title of this thread caught my eye: I'm getting them, too! About 5 so far . . . only 2 - 3 last year, but the year before I was swamped with them. Lots of new realtors entering the biz, I guess.

If you are a week or two away from defaulting a mailer like that could be a godsend. You wouldn't believe how many people don't believe it's actually going to happen, until it does, as people tend to put off the inevitable. Equity deals are the holy grail. It's a numbers game.
Some of the new agents just sent them out to neighborhoods!
I get them all the time so they don't check to see WHO they are sending them too!
When random local agents send a card to me, I call them and ask if they need a home inspector. Some have actually gotten irritated that I called. Wow, sending me mail and when I market back it’s a bad thing! Same goes for the mortgage guy who Sly Dials (it leaves a call that goes straight to voicemail) I assume everyone in the Triangle MLS. I called asking if they needed someone to recommend. They did text back and say they would take me off the list though and haven’t called back, so I’ll give them that.
