There are rumors afloat that have Vick signing with the Redskins. If he does you can forget about JC. He'll be gone before seasons end.

Default Is Alex Smith Back?

I think he deserves one last chance to show why he was the #1 pick in the draft. He has not truly has a chance to prove himself because of an injury.

Can Alex Smith live up to Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Mark Sanchez etc?

Default Wishful thinking??

I am a big time niner fan. On draft day, I was very disappointed. To me, he is a system QB and his college competition was suspect. The system he played in was perfect environment to excel. I did not see opportunities for him to work off the cuff. Plus, Alex Smith does not have what it takes to make in the NFL. His heart seems suspect and the ability to adapt are questionable. That Green Bay QB has heart, he has been sacked 20 times but still finds the reciever.

When the niners hired Mike Martz, I said ok, a great system. Alex needs an offensive coordinator to do the work for him, kind of staging the environment. After the Mike Martz debacle, I lost hope and started thinking a trade was most appropriate.

It did not happen so we move forward to the present. Alex needs quick short passes and a strong running game. We have one piece, a strong running game, when he plays. I feel those variables are keys to niners success, besides trading him. If the niners achieve the above there is a possibility of <9-7 season.

There's my wishful thinking.

I hope he does well but making his first start in a couple of years against the Colts at home is not exactly the perfect situation for his confidence. It would have helped him if they were at home playing the Rams or something.

I thought he did very well today. Infact he did better then Manning overall stat wise.

He does very well in the shot gun formation and spreading out the offense.

Smith to Crabtree is going to be a Superhit.

Singletary must be baffled at how his Niners held Manning to zero TD passes yet still lost the game.
