An iconic Texas-based burger chain may be making its way to Fayetteville.

Whataburger submitted plans to the city’s Technical Review Committee showing a 3,305-square-foot freestanding store at 3900 Ramsey St. with a two-lane drive-thru.

Their hamburgers are pretty good, but a couple of notches below Culver’s and Dario’s. They use to have an excellent chicken wrap.

I hear good things about Dairo, which opened near Hendersonville last year. They are a regional NC burger chain based near Winston-Salem which has moved west of the Triad with stores now in Mooresville, Lenoir, and now Hendersonville.
