Circuit City is gone.

Linens N Things is on it's way out (FYI, their going out of business sale is an absolute joke).

I can see some Sports Authorities going under.

I can also see some Bed Bath & Beyond stores closing as well.

That means watch buying gift cards to stores that might go under.

I worry about A Childrens Place, and I love that store.

I hope not Kirklands, my favorite decor store.

There is not a soul in some of the KMarts, I think they need to close a few more of the stores.
Sad to say...........

Circuit City was FOOLISH to let all their best salespeople go. Sometimes you have to wonder where they get their "leaders."

I have not been to LNT sale - so thanks for the warning. I'M BUMMED about them closing. I liked them so much more than BB&B...but that, again was bad management. I think BB&B will be ok. I know some of their senior managers, and they are doing well. If the close any, it would just be strategic shut-downs of less profitable stores, not that the co is in danger. They also own Harmon & Christmas Tree Shops, both of which are doing well.

Sports Authority is SO overpriced compared to Modell's so I can see that.

I think Chidren's Place should be ok. They have had LOTS of problems, but they are making some moves to get themselves back on their feet. Time will tell...

K-Mart (see yesterdays thread) seems to be a dying store for quite some time now. They remind me of Bradlees before they folded... but it's a shame because I like Sears and they own K-Mart.

GIFT CARDS I told my family I will buy NONE except AMEX gift cards... sorry, don't trust any of these stores. I remember being in Levitz 3 days after they announced they were going under. A woman was in there in TEARS, her dad bought her a $3,000 gift card a week before so she could get her bedroom set. Now they would not honor it. AS IF they did not know what was coming, disgusting really.

Is K-Bee Toys going under?

Strong possibility:

Circuit City (I think they're goners, although I'm not looking forward to a Best Buy electronics virtual monopoly)
Office Max (Surprised they've hung on this long)

Moderate Possibility:

KB Toys (I like them, but again, can't figure out how they survived this long)
K-Mart
Sam Goody/F.Y.E./Coconuts
Chrysler (I think given the choice, the gub'ment would let them die before GM or Ford)

Slight Possibility:

Blockbuster
Rite Aid (The one by me is always empty, and yet, there's always a line at the registers)
Sears

Boscov's is such a nice store, but I wonder how long they can hold on.

I've been to four of them, so I guess am kind of a Boscov's junkie. When then have sales, they have sales! I bought a 250 dollar gourmet coffee maker for 75 dollars a few summers back. I STILL have never seen them under 150 to this day.
