I thought about that idea of having some fire ants for pets. They do not eat too much, easy on the water bowl. The big problem came when I tried to get a collar and leash on them. Worked Ok for some, but they never all wanted to go in the same direction when I took them out for a walk.
Real shame, I bet they love to go for a ride in the car.
Then I might also have that problem of peeps stopping and wanting to know what their names were. Would it be Ok, if they fed them a bit of ice cream and all the rest of it.
O', I just love the way he looks at me, I'm going to pet him now.

I made it all the way to Georgia and will stay here for the time being. A number of fire ants tried to come up here with me but I dumped out the flowerpots and took cuttings of my infested houseplants. I wasn't born yesterday. Just ask Dawglady.
So things are grand. It's nice being back in the "coastal empire" - much greener than north Florida.
I'm considering making a foray into SC tomorrow. Gotta dig out my passport, just in case.
Yes, but are the natives friendly in the New World????

Those ants are nice once you get collars on them. They can even be leash trained. I lived in SC. Not sure some fire ants will go to some parts of that state. Just don't get lost and wind up in Boston, even the ants will not like that experience.
Actually, the Boston air might be good for those ants!
Especially the winter air.
