Drivers seem so impatient these days. Otherwise, IMO pedestrians should not be trying to assert their pedestrian rights, but rather instead cross defensively. Never assume that cars are going to honor the crosswalk signals. And when crossing, walk with a little hustle in your step instead of being relaxed and slow.

BTW it's "greener" to not force motor vehicles to be stopped and wait for a long time for a slow pedestrian to cross the street.

I'd say that the congestion on the roads likely leads to increased frustration. Not saying it's right but once people get out of traffic sometimes it seems like a free for all and people go faster than normal because of all the time they just lost sitting in traffic. We travelled south through Boston on 93s at 730 tonight and the traffic was awful. We are why the f@ck is there traffic now? It was due to a car accident. It's just all the time.

^Yes. I've sat in bumper-to-bumper traffic entering the Ted Williams, coming home from Logan after midnight. If it's not sheer volume, count on lane restrictions and road work!

I’ve noticed an uptick in rage beeping and was enjoying a nice lull. That being beeping and angry honking because a driver is upset with someone vs like warning them you are in the lane so don’t merge.

Like wtf people. So glad you expressed your anger but thanks for putting everyone else in a ****ty mood.

I'm in general agreement with most of what is on this thread about aggressive driving. One potentially contradicting thing I will say is GTFO THE LEFT LANE on the highway!

Now people are inserting devices into the seatbelt latch to 'trick' the car into thinking you are buckled so it stops beeping! This one in RI had one of those devices and young driver died b/c he was flying and not buckled when he crashed. https://www.necn.com/news/local/ri-t...-life/3175469/

This has become a huge problem. That and cracking down on the left lane hogs (and people using the inappropriate lane in general), would go a long way towards reducing unneeded congestion, road rage, and crashes.

I don't wear my seatbelt sometimes if I am not on the highway. You don't need a device you simply buckle the seat belt behind you. If I am diving on the highway I always use a seatbelt.

People that ride in my car find the beeping intolerable but the beeping does not bother me and I can block it out. People are amazed how I can tolerate the beeping for 15 minutes or longer. I went to a mechanic and asked him to disable the beep but he said he could not because it's illegal to remove the beep.

They can't tolerate the beeping for one minute. I am a stubborn human.

The notion that highway driving is more dangerous than around town isn't necessarily true, you can be just as severely injured in an around town crash depending on the circumstnaces. Question is --why not just wear a seatbelt all the time?

So how fast should someone be going in the left lane? I have gone about 70 and have people riding my ass...so I moved over and get stuck behind someone going 50...the other night when it was raining 40. It was a very irritating ride home. lol.
