They just train their people in basic language and 'selling'
They are salesmen/relationship people, NOT financial advisers.
They 'get their marching orders' from "corporate" concerning what to invest in, without understanding... Which means they don't know if it does or does not apply to you.... Just the 'formula'.
I was with Edward Jones for 10 years. They are a brokerage house only. They buy in bulk, sell you what they have. Some of their products are good, some are the bottom of the barrel. I had a excellent advisor for 8 years, he became very rich at a young age and retired but he knew how to deal with people. Edward Jones changed through the years and became greedy and they pushed products that were sub standard. I left them 3 years ago and I would never go back to them.
