OK, need some help from the usual suspects here! We're currently living in a high rent townhouse in center city Harrisburg. It's getting kinda thuggish, not sure if maybe the new girl in the office is doing any background checks, but either way we are looking to get out asap. I was waiting on a new job that finally came through. I will be working in the center city area, and also be in and out for per diem work in my second job field.
We want to get into a safe area. We have been searching and searching, Camp Hill, Lemoyne, over here down river, Steelton, you name it.
I was shocked driving on some side streets in Steelton. Trash everywhere, porch-sitters hanging out. The congestion around the islamic center (looks like a renovated church?) was wild. When we went back abit into the upper heights area it looked abit better there.
I noticed down around the quarry area there might be something possible, but I'm wondering what the noise/vibration levels are like around that immediate area?
Trying our best to stay under 100,000 - we don't need a lot of room, just a safe area. I'm very handy with renovating and the usual needs of a new place, so location, location, location is the problem with sticking with that price range.
Is that quarry bad to live around? Any suggestions where else we might be missing? I'm on realtordotcom, homesdotcom, the usual sites. Help please!
And being that I'm using the internet to ask for help, I'm including the required kitty pic as per classic internet protocols...

IMO, Steelton is worse than center city Harrisburg - it's a pit! I definitely recommend continuing to look on the west shore. Though I just noticed this was from the beginning of the month, so maybe you found something by now...
