Looking for a good place for breakfast in or close to Cartersville, Ga. Since Shoney's closed and Cracker Barrel has changed their breakfast menu from great selection to poor choices, does anyone have an suggestions for a really good breakfast place or buffet? Prefer not to drive too far but something closer than Kennesaw.

I guess that you could check out “Doug’s Place” which is a Southern-style restaurant that serves eggs, country ham, big biscuits and pancakes for breakfast. Doug’s Place is located on the northwest corner of Highway 293 and Gaston Westbrook Avenue in downtown Emerson, across from Emerson City Hall and Municipal Court on the southeast corner and across from the Emerson Police Department on the northeast corner.

“4 Way Lunch” (located at 31 East Main Street at the southwest corner of East Main and South Gilmer streets in Downtown Cartersville) seems to serve a quality breakfast menu that may be worth checking out. 4 Way Lunch is open every Monday through Saturday from 5:30AM to 3PM.

Sixes Tavern Bar & Grille (located at 601 Henderson Drive south off of GA-113 West Avenue/Rockmart Highway in west Cartersville) seems to serve a really good brunch menu with lots of traditional breakfast items… Though, Sixes Tavern doesn’t open until 11AM.

Moore’s Gourmet Market (located at 227 Fite Street in west Cartersville) also seems to serve a really good brunch menu with lots of traditional breakfast items but only serves brunch on Saturdays and Sundays and does not open until 11AM.

Martin’s Restaurant (located at 1214 West Avenue/GA-113 in west Cartersville and open from 5AM to 3PM 7 days a week) serves a biscuit-heavy breakfast menu but NO pancakes or waffles.

Outside of the aforementioned restaurants and Waffle House, one very notable breakfast restaurant that comes to mind in the Cartersville area is IHOP, which is located at 640 East Main Street (GA-113) in Cartersville about a mile west of the I-75/GA-113 interchange.

There’s also a second IHOP location in the Cartersville area at the TA Travel Center truck stop at the northeast corner of the I-75 and Cassville White Road interchange (exact address is 981 Cassville White Road, Cartersville, GA 30121). Though be warned that both Cartersville area IHOP locations are only open from 6AM to Midnight and are not open 24 hours like IHOP restaurants have been known to be traditionally.

If all else fails, there’s always the good ole breakfast standby that is Waffle House, which has multiple locations around the Cartersville area alone.
