Diverging diamonds have become more and more popular across the US over the last 10 or 15 years.

There was study that showed that DDI (diverging diamond interchange) ramp terminals experienced 55% fewer fatal and injury crashes, 31.4% fewer property damage only crashes, and 37.5% fewer total crashes.

Also called Double Crossover Diamond. There's one on Arundel Mills Blvd above the BW Parkway.

I could not open the PDF as it requires payment but thanks for the info. I still do not fully understand it even after reading the Wiki page but I guess they know more than I do.

As for Crestwood being closed that has ended. But for over a year they closed it at 9:00 and back when I was delivering food (I do rideshare again now) that area was the most productive area for me to be. I could not understand what they could possibly be doing under 50 yards of roadway that would take a year to complete.

But I'm sure glad to see this progress, it has been going on forever.
