I am not familiar with Rogers/Fayetteville except for driving through them on my way in so I cannot say much about that area. It seems that more jobs may be avaiable there though. It depends on what kind of work you do because there are also jobs in Fort smith. Also, if you are use to driving an hour plus to work as we were in Illinois, than an hour commute to fayetteville would not be bad. Hope this helps.
It's good to see someone have some nice things to say about Ft Smith. I really enjoy the historical aspect of the city. But I don't tend to hear good things about it from other people. But NWA is where everything seems to be happening now. Fayetteville does have some nice history too but it's not anything like Ft Smith. I think you'll be seeing even more big city amenities soon in NWA compared to Ft Smith though.

Default I'm a Arkansas Native....

It is growing so fast around Fayetteville, Springdale, and Rogers. Housing is being built everywhere and the cost of land is getting expense. The traffic is very congested and there is new roads being built everywhere. Takes forever to get around. The school times are spread out by 10 minutes apart to try and relieve traffic. There's alot to do around this area and still alot of scenic beauty. Beaver Lake is beautiful but can it keep up with the growing population on water usage and there is trouble with sewage. My family and I are considering Tennessee. Did my visiting and researching about Northwest Arkansas and we like North East Tennessee better. Hope this helps.
