Hello,
Can anyone tell me anything about Siloam Springs? Weather, demographics, property prices, etc? Is it a good place to retire? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!
Yvette

I would not recommend Siloam Springs as a place to retire. It really is a nice little town, but not a place I would suggest someone look at for retirement. To answer your questions about Siloam Springs, home prices are reasonable, most go for $85 to $100/ sq.ft. It is located about 20 miles west of Springdale. Here is a good link for more info. Actually, you will have to type this in or copy and paste http://muninetguide.com/states/arkan...am_Springs.php If you are looking for plenty of socialization opportunities among fellow retirees, I would look into Bella Vista. It is a beautiful town with several lakes, golf courses, and plenty of things to do. Bella Vista is a place where you can be as involved or uninvolved as you would like to be. I am a real estate agent in Northwest Arkansas and I can tell you that every person who moves to Bella Vista absolutely loves it. The scenery in Bella Vista is beautiful and the people are really nice. It's great, because they all move here from somewhere else and you really get to know some very interesting people. Visit www.beautifulbellavista.com and see what you think. Hope this helps! Let me know if there is anywhere else you would like to know about. Take care.

Default Thank you ;)

Thanks so much for the info. We do love Bella Vista, but there is one problem. We want to buy acreage (from 5 to 15 acres) and never see any bigger than a lot or combined lots to purchase. That is why we have been looking at the surrounding areas. Can you buy acreage there?? We have also looked at the Pea Ridge area, and love it, but the prices for land are astronomical. Any advice?

I appreciate your help very much!!!

Yvette

There is actually quite a bit of acreage for sale right now in Bella Vista, I know of one listing from 6-46 acres. Priced at 189,000. I can find out how many acres that includes. Land prices are going down. Land owners got a little out of control with asking prices when things were really hot here last year, they are starting to catch up with the cool down and lower their prices. There is quite a bit of land you can get your hands on in little places in between towns. How many acres are you looking for and would you want an exisiting home or would you be building? Pea Ridge is beautiful. There is a great piece of land there with a home that needs to either be restored or come down, but a very nice piece of land.
