Believe it or not, Jasper would eat all of that. He is a compulsive beggar. He stole a taco from Taco Bell off the table, and ate the whole thing, soft tortilla, meat, cheese, lettuce. Our last cat, Beau, would steal toast from the toaster. My cats are not finicky. They eat everything. If I am eating it, they demand a bite. Except this one time, when I was eating beef stew from a can, Beau sniffed it, and started covering it up, right at the table...for some reason I just wasn't hungry for that stew any longer.

Snickers is a beggar, and will eat literally anything, but Skittles is the total opposite. He only takes a few bites of canned food in the morning, and Snickers is fine with that - he eats it, or he more like inhales it. Turkey, chicken, and ham - Snickers goes nuts, Skittles could care less. His preference is dry cat food. Yesterday Snickers ate so much leftover turkey, that he didn't have room for his ham, and Skittles wasn't interested. I was seal-a-mealing leftovers, so he got the little pieces that were leftover.

My cat only like Iams dry food. She doesn't like moist food. She loves it when I feed peanuts to the squirrels . Since I am not sure how good those are for her, I only let her have three a day. She only likes to eat when I am in the kitchen with her. I can't figure that out.

Squirrels are good for cats, but more than three per day is overkill.

Default Peanuts

When I feed the squirrels, she stays right by my side so I can feed her 3 peanuts. She has to stay inside by the front door. My kitty is not an outdoor cat unless I have her on a leash to walk her or I should say let her walk me. No squirrel eating in my territory! I did finally get well enough to get out and get her her dry Iams. It's practically the only thing she will eat other then some treats to help her teeth and the peanuts.

Wow, I've never heard of a cat liking peanuts. I've heard of dogs liking peanut butter (and the funny thing when they've got it all up in their jowls) but never cats with peanuts...

The OP may be an old one, but it's an interesting question. I once ran into this situation, bad weather forced me to postpone a shopping trip and I had to improvise. I keep canned chicken around to make enchiladas with, and my cat's cat food is mostly canned chicken, so I gave him some of that. He was cool with it.

As for people food my boy loves, he adores cooked eggs, and cheese. He goes insane over cheese. I don't let him have much, I don't want the dairy to cause digestive issues, but he gets a wee bit when I have it because it just makes him SO HAPPY.

Hard to resist giving them stuff they love, isn't it? Even when you know it's not the healthiest thing to let 'em eat...

Sorry - merlot and cat food is on every shopping list! At least a week's worth in the pantry. Our furries refuse people food, even tuna or chicken. We supplied neighbors with cat food during the recent black ice.
