Currently in Banff with next stop Hinton/Jasper.

We are in an RV towing a small pickup. Total length 60 feet/19 meters.

RV specific GPS programs are suggesting east on 1 to Calgary then north on 2 to Edmonton them west on 16 to Hinton/Jasper.

I can cut that time and milage in half if I go north on 93/Icefields Parkway but I don’t want to do this if it will be difficult or dangerous in an RV.

Any suggestions?

I don't drive an RV much less towing another vehicle but I can't imagine why you're app is rerouting you, maybe it thinks its still closed for winter? The icefield parkway is a very well maintained proper paved highway and RV's are everywhere, like the plague! The tour buses have no issue either. Just stop for gas at Saskatchewan Crossing which specifically caters for RV's.

To tour the Rockies and not drive the icefield parkway would be criminal.

Drove it today with no problems.

Two lane well paved road the whole way. No cell service until about 15 miles south of Jasper.

Thanks for all the help.
